Terry Hsiao

Chief Executive Officer | Hooks Mobile

Terry Hsiao is an entrepreneur, advisor and investor with extensive experiences in mobile messaging, payment and cloud infrastructure. Mr. Hsiao has founded multiple companies and serve currently as Head of Strategy at Kaleyra, a cloud communications platform company. Terry served two terms on the board of Center of Innovation and Technology, a state funded economic development and investment agency in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Terry is the current President of Monte Jade DC, a non-profit organization representing Asian American business leaders and entrepreneurs for 25 years, and the Executive Director of the MIT Alums Angel Group in DC. Mr. Hsiao also served on the Board of Governors at MIT Sloan, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Management of Technology; and Board of Advisors at College of Engineering at Rutgers University, where he received a BSEE Honors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Mr. Hsiao have been awarded "Entrepreneur of the Year" by Asian American chamber of commerce in 2016, and Excellence award by US Pan Asian America Chamber of Commerce in 2019.

Nina Wang

Vice President/General Counsel | Greencourt Capital Inc.

Ms. Wang joined Greencourt Capital Inc. (“Greencourt”) as Vice President and General Counsel in 2015. As one of the five executive board managers, Ms. Wang helped with the formation of W-G Capital, which is a venture of West Group and Greencourt. Ms. Wang is in charge of the structure design of international transactions, tax planning, investment decisions and post-investment management. In addition, Ms. Wang maintains relationship with investors and provides overseas real estate investment strategies and tax counseling services for Chinese investors. Ms. Wang has approximately 20 years tax/finance experiences as a tax attorney. She worked in finance and tax planning area for Deloitte & Touche, Thelen Reid & Priest LLP, IBM, Lockheed Martin Corporation and Computer Sciences Corporation. Ms. Wang has an Honors Bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University and earned her LL. M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. She is a member of the New York State Bar and a CPA licensed in New York State.

Tony Lau

Chief Strategy Officer | AP Group

A seasoned corporate executive, investment banker, private equity and angel investor. Tony is a Managing Director of Détente Group, an investment banking firm that focuses on infrastructure and satellite projects. He is a Senior Adviser of Fintech4Good which incubate and fund Blockchain and Fintech startups. He is on the Board of the DC Chapter of Monte Jade which promote entrepreneurship. Tony is also a Mentor at the Innovation Center of George Washington University. As former Chief Strategy Officer of a private equity investment holding company, he had invested in many industrial technology companies including those in consumer electronics and robotics. As former corporate executive of many multinational corporations including Lockheed Martin, he has extensive experiences in managing, growing and financing business operations globally. Tony began his career as CPA with KPMG and Deloitte. He has a BS degree from University of Waterloo as well as BS/MBA degree from Northeastern University.

Mark A Lawrence

Managing Principal | Inncuvate Consulting LLC

Mark is the founder and managing partner at Inncuvate Consulting LLC, which is a venture studio and professional services firm that is focused on the future of work and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Prior to founding Inncuvate, Mark served at two “Big 4” firms. As a Senior Manager in the Federal Technology Consulting practice at Deloitte Consulting LLP Mark led consulting teams and directly provided trusted advisory services to CIOs and CTOs. Prior to that he served as an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton where he managed and guided large system implementation project teams in addition to medium and small strategic consulting teams. Mark honed his technology planning and engineering acumen at Cable & Wireless and MCI Communications Corporation. (now part of Verizon) provisioning and operating large telecommunications switched transmission networks. Mark is also very active in his community and passionate about his adopted hometown, Prince George’s County Maryland. He serves on the board of the Prince Georges County Social Innovation Fund, the University of Maryland Terp Entrepreneur Network, the Bowie Business Innovation Center, and the Prince Georges County Chamber of Commerce. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from Temple University and a cross-disciplinary Master of Science in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland College Park.

Carter McClure

Managing Director | Pennovation Center

Carter McClure is the Managing Director for the Pennovation Center, a technology incubator and co-working space collaborative between The University of Penn and 1776. He has an M.B.A. from Hampton University and is a certified information systems specialist. Prior to his work in business incubation, Carter managed financial analysis for companies including Motorola, Caremark Rx, and Citibank of Chicago. Carter has 15+ years’ experience in business assistance and incubation and a wealth of experience with incubation programming, university student and faculty entrepreneurship, and business partnerships and collaboration. Previously, he led the Mason Enterprise Center at George Mason University and the Business Accelerator Program at East Stroudsburg University where he was instrumental in heading the university-wide strategic task force on social innovation and entrepreneurship. Carter’s passion lies at the intersection of innovation, inclusion and impact.
